My pretraining routine for BJJ

Hey gang! Sorry I went so quiet after we had so much enthusiasm about this community. I want to encourage other people to feel free to post their workout reports and their ideas here outside of the challenge threads, so please feel free to do that. But I also got busy in August because something kinda crazy happened in my real life and now I have more responsibility to my local community that I’ve ever had before, so I had to take that serious.

August is named after Augustus, the first Roman Emperor. This is also our first ever challenge thread as this community is new. We’re going to keep this month’s challenge theme REAL basic. The challenge is “Anti-Imperialism.” Users who want to post challenges to other users are encouraged to theme their challenges around anti-imperialism.

Do your workouts. Make sure you get the correct nutrition (and sleep) as that’s what makes up (at least) the other half of the equation. Get the right number of calories and macros in order to achieve your goals.

sorry about not posting last week. life got ahead of me and i’d rather say nothing at all when i have nothing to say. for one thing, did a hard effort yesterday and need 72 hours to recover (50 to go!) so i’m mostly looking to do light strength training the next couple days. if anyone has any ideas, feel free to recommend me stuff in the comments.

Happy August everyone! Today I walked 5 miles in solidarity with striking workers and then spent the afternoon chopping wood to convert into charcoal for water filters to help alleviate the water crisis in central Appalachia. What did other subscribers get up to today, or this week?
